Rineke Djikstra's new show at Marian Goodman Gallery, NY

One of my favorite artist's specializing in portraiture has a new show of videos at Marian Goodman Gallery in New York. The interactive nature to this show should be very appealing to all viewers. This article in the NYT weekend section delivers a good write up: A Return to Video Is Moving

South African Photographs: David Goldblatt

Goldblatt's image used on the exhibition website is an obvious comparison to Robert Frank's iconic image "Charleston, South Carolina, 1955". Each photograph was taken less than 10 years apart in different parts of the world, but convey the same social sentiment.

What makes a good photograph? 

In a world filled with an over saturation of images, and more people everyday entering the business because of the accessibility of digital photography, this is an important question to ask. My hope through this blog is to post some of my own work which lives up to this statement. I will try not to over saturate my own market but instead post a well curated group. Working at Christie's auction house has taught me not only about good artwork but strong presentation. I try and bring this knowledge and experience to my own work. Let me know what you think!
